Let’s start with our top tips to choosing the right piece of bridal jewellery,

  1. Match your metals and materials: With our experience in bridal accessorising, we’ve found some metals work best with certain hues. We’ve found warmer tone dresses such as ivory or dresses embellished with gold beadwork, are best paired with gold tones or pearls set in gold. Both gold and pearlescent tones can highlight the warm, creamy tones of the fabric which may clash with brighter white hues. For a pure white dress, accents in silver or platinum harmonise best. And who’s to say you are sticking with tradition, if you’ve chosen a bright hued wedding dress then we would always advise to think about if it's a warm (pinks, reds) or cold (blues or greens) tone and follow the advice above on matching metals to hues above.
  2. Less is more, sometimes: If your dress already has some standout features such as embellished detailing, an ornate or high neckline or adorned with lace you may want your jewellery to be more subtle.  However for a gown with a simpler style, try a sparkling drop earring in 18k Gold Plated White Zirconia or a statement freshwater pearl necklace
  3. When it comes to earrings, take a cue from your hairstyle: Another thing to take into account is, if you're leaving your hair down and over your ears, small studs or drops will be best, and if you’re going for an updo, you might want something a little more statement, like a pair of drop earrings or gem encrusted huggies.
  4. Choosing pieces that suit your style: Choose jewellery based on your personality and stick to a style you will be comfortable in. The goal is to look and feel like the best, most beautiful version of yourself. This adage saying holds true, “Trends are going to come and go, but your wedding photos last forever”. It’s more important to make decisions based on personal style and sentimental reasons than choosing a piece that could be considered a bold trend choice a few years later.
